Roda

La Roda is a multi-player instrument.  It’s a turn-based acumulative sound-editing engine.

Based on the chinese whispers game, it was conceived as a collective improvisational tool.  All players are connected and the audio signal goes from one player to the next, sequentially.  Each player contributes by modifying the signal on it’s turn.  This accumulative process (sometimes collaborative others impredictable) results in an audio loop that’s constantly changing.

A conductor selects the audio input, manages network communication and guides the players with visual signs.
